RAY BRADBURY.

Book cover. 2019.

The Martian Chronicles is a collection of short stories chronicling the colonisation of Mars by a humanity fleeing a world on the brink of destruction. The colonists carry with them their innermost desires and dreams of reproducing on the Red Planet a civilisation of hot dogs, comfy sofas and lemonade on the porch at sunset.
But his baggage also includes ancestral fears, which translate into hatred of what is different, and the diseases that will decimate the Martians. Ray Bradbury established himself as a writer with this work, now a classic of American letters, with his rich, immediate and moving style, which has earned him the appellation of poet of science fiction. Bradbury moves into the future to illuminate the present and explore human nature.
